LG Vu (CU920)
I purchased this LG VU phone for my husband, as I thought it looked great and had all of the features on it I was looking for. He is really impressed with it when I give this to him as a Birthday present. The Vu is made of sturdy, thick, black plastic rather than metal and adds pick-up, hang-up, and camera buttons to it's hardware volume controls. The general design of this LG is a very, modern, stylish and a very cool looking phone. The touch screen on this phone is really fun to use. Many touch-screen phones have either a slightly awkward touch, or are really sensitive, like LG's own VX10000 Voyager, or an interface, that really is not finger-friendly, such as the HTC Touch my brother has. There is no worries here, with this one though. The Vu uses an interface of large, beautiful, picture icons and scroll bars, that really welcome the size of your fingers, letting you glide around all your menus at a very comfortable pace.Texting and keyboard functions.
I love to text with this phone. Its easy on my fingers. For your text, you have two options really. You have a full keyboard that, comes up and magnifies each letter as you touch it, or a virtual phone keypad with phone-like multi-tapping. Both keyboards vibrate each time you press a key which is really cool I find. They are both very nicely laid out and everything is in the right places and easy enough to use. A good keypad for texting on in my opinion.
Screen
With this Vu's it's main screen has four seperate functions, at the very bottom of it's good sized display screen. It has a well set out main menu, TV, your contacts menu, and a great dial pad. If you want to change your settings on this, to enable your shortcuts menu, you also get your music, (my favourite) messaging, web browsing, and IM come up on your home screen also. Bring up your main menu and you will get your icons divided into three separate tabs. Phone and messaging, music and video, and your tools and settings. This really is all simple and straightforward to use. It is nice and clear and Vibrant also with good sized icons.
To watch television through your Vu LG, you will have to sign up for this service though and pay the $20 per month charge, which I think is too much, pull out the antenna from the top corner of your phone, and press on your TV button. This sound can be heard over stereo through your Bluetooth headphones as well as your old wired ones and its excellent.
Music
Now for your music. You can load all your songs onto your microSD card and that fits underneath the phone's battery nicely and play them through the built-in music player. This LG Vu supports all MP3 files and your WMA music files, but not AAC for some reason, so for the best experience I have found, I recommend using a Windows Media Player. This music player works well and the sound is excellent on this.
The 2-megapixel camera is not that good really. It does its job I guess, but its nothing great. It's got an autofocus and a 320-by-240 resolution video-recording mode, but at 9 frames per second, the videos are shaky, and stills are sometimes very blurry. This Lg Vu is the less expensive of the i-phones and packs in features like 3G, instant messaging, and stereo Bluetooth which is excellent.
Overall
Overall I highly recommend this phone to everyone. My husband loves it and I like to borrow it too sometimes. He has had it a while now and it still works really well. It has gone down a little in price from wgen I first purchased this also, so it now more affordable. Its a great phone my husband loves with great sounds and features on it also
