I bought this DVD recorder after reading many reviews about it on-line. I wanted to spend around $100 on one and this one fitted the bill nicely. I am very pleased with this Toshiba recorder. It looks sleek and stylish sitting on my glass self, underneath my television. It has a lovely black glossy finish to it and is very easy to use. This recorder is inexpensive. It performs basic DVD recordings without a problem at all. It upscales DVD to 1080p. It supports most recordable DVD formats, including dual-layer discs which is really good. Its not special but it does its job well.We are able to record all our favourite shows we have missed or want to re-watch at a later date, with very little effort on this recorder, which is great. There is not any extra features though, such as a good recording speed, DVD or even RAM compatibility, or extra connectivity, like a USB or SDHC card slot, but for the money it does what we want it to do. Play our DVDS. It has good sized and easy to use buttons, for Skip, Stop and Record, which are also available on the front of the unit if you happen to bury the remote under the seat cushion. The remote for this DVd recorder is easy to use also and it works quite well, is easy to find the functions you need and looks nice also.

Recording
To make a recording on this DVD player, you will need to put in your DVD disc, select a function or imput of your choice, press your Record button on the remote, and press the Stop button, when you are done of course. Pre selecting a recording is easy, even for me to do. You just need to press the Timer Programme button and set the date and time in there, but this toshiba can't control a cable/satellite box though, so you'll need to turn it to the correct channel before the program starts. Plus, you also need to remember to turn the unit completely off before the recording starts also, which is a common feature on all DVD recorders anyway. Well it records very well I find and is easy to use if I can do this.

Overall
Overall for your basic DVD recordings this Toshiba is an excellent buy and it really looks nice and stylish also. They have come down a lot now in price, so I really would highly recommend it for you basic DVD playing and recording needs as I find it straightforward to use and plays and records really well indeed
